Welcome Your Out-of-Town Guests with Unique Hotel Room Gifts Greeting your guests with welcome gifts is a wonderful way to acknowledge the effort they have made to be with you on your big day. Your friends and family will appreciate any little treats they find waiting for them in their hotel room, and will love any customized gifts that match the location or theme of your wedding. Guests who have travelled a long way to be with you will surely crave a snack. If the region is known for certain foods, include them in the gift box. This might mean grapes grown in vineyards in the Niagara region or maple candy in St. Jacobs. Of course, you can always offer chocolates, candies, cookies or crackers in addition. Include sparkling water or juice, and perhaps a bottle of wine (but don’t forget the corkscrew!). If you know your guests are first-time visitors to your wedding destination, provide them with a map and information on good restaurants and interesting sights. If you have coordinated a pre-wedding dinner for all of your visitors, include a special invitation with the directions and important details. To emphasize a theme or time of year, you might also add small items that your guests will enjoy during their stay. Consider flip flops for a Muskoka beach wedding, sunscreen if you are having your ceremony outdoors or gourmet hot chocolate and comfy wool socks for winter-time nuptials. Ask your bridesmaids or friends to help you assemble the packages with the items you’ve chosen. And don’t forget to speak with someone at the hotel in advance to find out when you’ll need to deliver the gifts to make sure they make it into you guests’ rooms on time. |
